Your adventure begins with an early morning departure from Dar es Salaam aboard the SGR train to Morogoro. Sit back and enjoy the comfortable and scenic railway journey as you travel inland towards the foothills of the Uluguru Mountains.
Upon arrival at Morogoro SGR Station, you will meet your professional safari driver-guide and continue your journey by 4×4 safari vehicle towards Mikumi National Park.
Once inside the park, begin your first game drive through Mikumi’s beautiful savannah landscapes. The park is renowned for its abundant wildlife, and you may encounter elephants, lions, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, antelopes, hippos, and numerous bird species.
Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African wilderness before continuing with your afternoon game drive.
As the afternoon comes to an end, exit the park and transfer to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and a relaxing overnight stay.

Wake up early and enjoy breakfast at the lodge or take a packed breakfast before heading back into Mikumi National Park for an exciting morning game drive.
The early morning is one of the best times to explore the park, as wildlife is often most active during the cooler hours of the day. With the soft morning light creating excellent conditions for photography, keep watch for predators and other animals beginning their daily activities.
Continue exploring Mikumi’s savannah before making your way out of the park in the late morning.
You will then drive to Morogoro SGR Station in time to board your train back to Dar es Salaam. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the journey as your safari adventure comes to an end.
Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, your 2-day Mikumi SGR Safari concludes.
